Frank R. Crews

	Frank R. Crews, 79, of DuQuoin, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2000 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
	Frank was retired from maintenance from Truex Trauer and Consol coal mines after 45 years of service.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuQuoin, DuQuoin Elks Lodge 884, DuQuoin VFW Post 513, DuQuoin American Legion Post 647 and UMWA Local 1825.  he was a U.S. Navy Seabee and served in WW II.
	He was born September 8, 1921 in Jackson County, the son of Henry S. and Maggie D. (Manis) Crews.  He married Ruth Keller on March 2, 1941 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri and she survives.
	He is survived by his wife of DuQuoin, two sons- Michael R. Crews and friend Joyce Smith of Anna, Alan S. Crews of Louisville, Ky., two sisters- Margaret Winchester of DuQUoin, Nancy Petry of Ellisville, Mo., five brothers- Warren S. Crews of Normal, Donald Crews of Peoria, Gene Crews of DuQuoin, Jerry Crews of Murphysboro, Charles Crews of Murphysboro, five grandchildren- Susan Norris and husband Kurt, Doug Crews and wife Melinda, Kevin Crews, Amanda Crews, Laura Crews.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers- Robert and Lester.
	Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September r30 at First United Methodist Church in DuQuoin with Rev. Max Borah officiating.
	Friends called from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin and from 8 a.m. until time of service at the church on Saturday.
	Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
	Military graveside rites were conducted by the DuQuoin VFW Post 513.
	In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations be made to the DuQuoin Youth Club or the First United Methodist Church  Memorial Fund.
